I have a question. So I did the pre season tune for my skis at the Motorsport dealership. Finally got the solenoid and everything fixed on it. Took it out yesterday they both started up and ran fine. After about 15 mins one of them stopped working and have smoke coming from engine bay. So I putted that back on trailer. Just use other one so one ski for the day. After I'm done for the day I loaded the other ski back up on trailer. I open drain plug for both ski. The one we used have water draining the one that engine was smoking had oil coming from drain plug. I took it back to where I got the pre season tune at and they told me that the engine blew cause of over revving. I personally think it's from them doing pre season tune and forgetting to cover the oil cap or something. Can a jet ski engine blow for over revving?? Isn't a jet ski engine built for high revving??

Well for starters I always double check any work done at a dealer. However if the cap was off and leaking oil you should have got a oil light on your dash at some point.

Not really possible to "over rev" the engine. The ski has built in limiters to prevent that.. That said, you can harm am engine by having it pegged to the max 100% of the time.. But most can't even ride like that as they will get exhausted.

No matter what, you need a second opinion just so that nothing stupid is missed.

Honestly if I can double check work I'll do it myself. I don't mess with engine stuff. Only used for a bit before engine started smoking

Don't know but they called me and said warranty will cover replacement of engine

That's unreal. You better jump on it right now !!!

Funny thing is this dealership never warranty anything I bring to them. Now they warranty this with all the oil in engine bay and by battery area. Luckily they were the last one to do tune up on my skis and didn't even get to use it yet. They serviced it at 91 hours and it's still on 91 hours. Shit if at 95 hours probably blame me. They already tried blaming me for over revving
