I often ride thru no wake zones for 10 to 15 min each way, often meaning everytime. After bout 7 er 8 hours the handlebars started to squeak and it drives us flipping nuts!

I sprayed a lil wd40 on the top side in between the plastic housings. Bc it sounded almost like plastic rubbing together. No luck. Anyone had this issue? Is there a way to lubricate something underneith??

Any input would be great! Thx in advance!

I think you are going to need to open the plastic up to determine what is actually making the noise. If you find it is a bushing for example, what I have done is drill a hole all the way through it and then install a Zerk fitting so that I can force grease to it via a grease gun.

Pull the 4 torx screws out from under the mirror cover. Pull the mirror cover off, comes right off. Spray some silicone into the top plastic bushing. Just did it to my '11 gti

Oh that sounds more promising! Will definitely try that out.

I have zero patience with plastic assemblies that click together lol I wanted not throw the insaine battery housings against the wall after I finally got em loose.

Freddyk79,
Did you resolve the problem? Did Chucked's suggestion work? I have the same jet with the same problem.

I did remove the torx screws and there was a Lil more to it to get the plastic apart tho. I gave up at that point BC at that current moment I didn't have a lot of time. It will def do the trick tho.

Hopefully I will have time this weekend and give it a try and will report back. Thanks for the quick reply
