Bought a 2012 RXP-X 260 this year with 115 h (our first PXC). Now has 143 h. Ever since we bought it, it has consumed a lot of oil - maybe 2/3 of a quart every tank of fuel.
I found some oil in the outlet of the SC, so someone suggested I change out the main seal in the SC. The mechanic i bought it from had actually rebuilt the SC before selling it to us. But anyway, I took it apart and replaced the seal, as well as the two o-rings on the SC stem. This had no effect - still using piles of oil.
It's definitely not leaking into the hull, because at this point we would be talking about several gallons (pretty hard to miss). This weekend I will check the plugs and do a compression test, and also find out how much oil is in the intercooler. Anything else I should check? It does seem down on power - turns maybe 7800 and tops out at 62 mph - but otherwise runs fine.
Grateful for any and all suggestions.
