According to my Owners Manual, the engine can be restarted within three minutes when stopped using the start/stop button. After this delay, you have to resume the starting procedure - remove the tether, press the start/stop button, install the tether, press the start/stop button within five seconds. The Manual also states if the engine is shut off using the start/stop button and the tether is left on the engine cut-off switch, the information center and all electrical power will shut off after approximately three minutes. With my PWC, I have about three seconds - everything shuts off and I have to resume the starting procedure. I was at the dealers this morning and was advised that the Manual was incorrect and that there was no three minute delay.

Could other owners of similar PWCs comment?

The only time the display stays on for longer than 15 seconds on my 2010 RXT is when it is running. What is it that you need the display on for three minutes for anyway? Maybe the manual is supposed to read "within three minutes?"

I was not concerned about the display but would like the convenience of restarting the PWC without having to remove/refit the tether.

Mine you have around a min or so, but yeah I know what you mean it's a pain.

It can be dangerous if your sitting with the engine off and see something or someone coming who may not see you or is not in control. Also say your sitting still and a few rollers come up, in the time it takes to restart it could have already capsized you.

Agree with the above comments and that's why I like the idea of three minutes (as stated in the Manual). I notice Ding gets a minute or so and qsilver23t gets 15 seconds but I would be lucky to get three seconds. What is everybody else getting?
