I originally posted this entry on the 4 tec boat forum. My bad. Just purchased a 2011 gti se 130. I've had 3 seadoos previous over the last 13 years, so am familiar with handling/operation/steering. I've noticed some steering issues with this new machine, specifically at lower speeds when it simply will not go in a straight line. For example, when in forward gear in calm conditions, with no acceleration and no hands on handle bars, it will veer to the right and travel in a loop. The dealership has sent out a tech on two occasions to adjust steering, but no changes. At my request, I drove another new, 2011 gti 130 (not an se model) so I could compare and when I drove it, I could not replicate the above conditions. While not dismissive of my concerns, they are beginning to imply that "that's just the way they are" in reference to the steering/handling. I'm not convinced, especially after driving another new, almost identical machine. Any thoughts????

this seems to be a common issue to all jet powered boats/pwc's, no power = no steering. At idle there is very little power, but just enough to get you turned around if not lined up straight, facing stiff winds, or current. Not sure why you were not able to replicate the conditions on a different ski, is the hull shape identical on both? Puzzling... seems like the jet nozzle might be slightly out of alignment but you said they came out and adjusted that with no results.

I have heard some people have installed an aftermarket rudder that attaches to the jet nozzle which claims to help low speed steering

Might want to research some products like this and give it a try. Wish I could help more, but if you find a solution let us all know!

Does your ski have rudders? Mine are factory and raise up after you hit something like 37 MPH via electric motors.

Both of my skis go forward in a nice straight path at idle speeds.
