brand new 2010 gtx 155 took out this weekend for first time and maintenance required led is on. did not use it and took it back to dealer. they said maybe a low battery. no code came up when i tried to go through codes. i am at a loss and dealer is no help!! should i just take it out and run it till it breaks and bring back to another dealer? any suggestions help frustrated and the season in the northeast is short. is there a software update? most likely the dealer didn't even prep it right since when i went for pick up was still in crate and were scrambling to get it prepped.

I just purchased a brand new RTX 255 Is left over from 09 models. Evidently in the last week there has been a recall on the Gauges according to my Dealer. I had this same thing happen to me. Purchased on Monday took to lake on Friday with same light. Dealer said they got recall just after Memorial Day. I felt like it was B.S., but no way to really argue. So now I have to drag the thing 3 hours back from the lake for the recall after just having it in for 10 hour service:( May be some of the more seasoned guys can chime in on if this is true. I just joined the forum, and was looking on factual information on this. I was going to be pissed if they let me take this home knowing about the recall. I was hoping to find something here to catch them in a lie.

for some strange reason on all models with ibr ,is,and itc after the first run a maint required light comes on.i know its a pain but it happens to all of them.we lake test every unit we sell and as soon as theyget back to the shop we have to restet the maint light.it is nothing to worry about.just a fluke nothing more

same problem

I just took my 2010 GTX 155 out today and had the same problem. Maintenance light came on. I thought it was due to it being in the break in mode I ran it for 2 hrs with no problem but I am worried about the light. Came home and let it sit in the garage. Turned the start button on with no lanyard to see the LCD display again. Still says Maintenance required followed by limp home mode. Will call the dealership tomorrow.

I also bought a leftover 09 GTX IS 255 (still in crate) and it said "maintenance required" from the day I brought it home. Dealership said drive it and bring in for 10 hour service and they would look at it. Dropped it off last Monday and they had to order parts......they "say" it's a problem with the Key, and had to order a new set of keys. Why the key would cause this I don't know, but they are supposed to have the 10 hour service and fix done today. Will let you know what they replaced, and if it fixed it.

The ski has always run just fine. Although, I have already put in a claim on the seat stitching coming loose at the crotch area (glovebox). At 10 hours it shouldn't be pulling away at all. Our 2008 GTX 215 stitching is flawless after 150 hours.

New Machine-- same problem

I just bought a 2010 RXT-X. Put it in the water for the first time yesterday. I got a maintenance required light while almost sitting still in no wake area waiting for my wife to park the truck and trailer. I looked at the manual and it doesn't say not to run it. We played very easy for about an hour and took it out of the water. At home in the garage I find the oil cap laying in the bottom of the hull. It was on when I left home because I pulled the dipstick to confirm that it was filled correctly. I never touched the fill cap. Now it seems to click when on fully. I assume it just wasn't on all the way. Very little oil escaped. OIl level on dipstick is fine. Now when I put the key on in the garage it says "Maintenance required" "Limp home mode" Do I need to go to a dealer already? I am afraid to go back to the water.

Well, going to pick mine back up after the 10 hour service and "new" updated keys. I spoke with them at length about why the "keys" would cause the check engine, etc. They said it's a recall caused by software updates and incompatibility issues with the keys that originally came with the 09 models. They say it's all fixed now and re-programmed. Will see when I get it on the lake.
