2009 Speedster 150 No chirps / staring when inserting decc key

My freshwater speedster intermittently isn’t recognizing the key. No chirps, no digital display. I have a good battery. I swapped out the dess post. I checked the connections to the ECU & fuses. The other accessories work, blower, bilge, etc. I’ve been told by a Seadoo mechanic it’s likely NOT a bad key as either they work or they don’t. One day it’ll work , another not.
