Hello All,
I recently purchased (2) 2007 GTX Seadoo 4 strokes super charged. I think the owners manual says that at 100 hours the superchargers need to be rebuilt. The person who sold me the Seadoo's told me that he had the porcelain washers replaced with stainless steel. Does this mean I can wait or have them rebuilt? Also I am assuming that there is a warning display on my Seadoo that is telling me I need maintenance?

Unless he gave you receipts showing the supercharges have been rebuilt, I would assume it needs to be done. There's more to a rebuild than just replacing the ceramic washers.

I also have 2 of the same skis you have. The seller told me he had not done the rebuild so it was the first thing I did to them. Found one had a metal washer that was about half way worn out. The other had the proper BRP washer that is coated in ceramic and looked exactly like the new ones. Neither had the original ceramic washers. The seller told me he bought them new and he did not have them rebuilt. Clearly they had been worked on and one of them had the newer rebuild kit inside. Just goes to show that sellers either don't know or they lie to you to get you to buy them? I don't think this guy lied...I think he had them in for service and did not know what the shop did to the machines. Either way...I needed to know they were done properly so I did the job myself.

I suggest sending them in to a reputable shop to have them rebuilt but pull the SC yourself if you're good with tools. You won't save any money by rebuilding it yourself. After cost of rebuild kits and the speciality tools you need to get the job done you won't break even until the fourth rebuild.

Here is the worn out metal washer. Clearly not the BRP updated metal washers. Clearly not the old style ceramic. Likely some aftermarket type?

here is the washer I found in the other SC, sitting on top of the new rebuild kit to show it looks identical to the new style that comes from BRP
