I'm getting tired of paying the dealer to change the oil and filter on my ski. It doesn't look that complicated so I'm going to do it myself before we get out this spring. Any tips? I already have purchesed the filter and the "O" Rings.

I did get some concerning info though, the dealer that I purchsed the filter and "O" rings from tried to sell me a Synthetic Blend Oil that they said Seadoo is recomending now in all Supercharged models. My manual CLEARLY states MINERAL OIL ONLY. What should I use if Seadoo is't making the Mineral Oil?

Same concern

Hey Big Jake
I have encountered the same dilima and it isn't real convincing listing to the dealer. "I'm 99% sure" to "it should be fine" are the typical answers. I have found that it is impossible to speak with someone from BRP just continuouse referral back to a dealer yet there is nothing that I can find in post or writing to show that BRP will stand behind this apparent major change to their own recommendation for oil use

sorry previous post

Hey Big Jack (not Jake)

must of been thinking about the John Wanye movie on my previous post

Just so you know I stuck with the mineral oil and will till i have to rebuild the super chargers I guess. Yeah I could find nothing on line either. Thank God for this forum. i think that it pretty messed up when the manual clearly states Mineral oil in these things and BRP is telling the dealers and techs to go with the New Blend.

I wish they could send us all a letter that explains the change. I bought mine new so they have all my info.

I hear ya

Thanks Big Jack

I have changed the oil with the "Blended" syn and am keeping the bottle with there directions and recommendations. As far as them keeping us confused I just tend to consider myself a mushroom--they keep you in the dark and feed you horse *&%#@ good thing I like mushrooms
Thanks again
