Trying to find out if running my engine out of water( in order to pump out water after useage) is contributing to wearing out my wear ring or is 3 years normal to have to change. Just curious if i need to pump water out everytime or every few times. Please advise.
No... running out of the water won't hurt the ring, since the impeller doesn't touch it.
How often you change the ring depends on how much junk is in the water where you ride. you could need a ring every year... you the OE ring could last the life of the ski.
