2007 GTI Gauges not working and blowing 3 amp fuse

I just bought a 2007 GTI and the Gauges are not working. I noticed that the 3 amp Gauge Fuse was blown and blows again when replaced. I am assuming that it is a bad Gauge Cluster. Is there anything else it could be?

i bought an 05 4tec and the guages were bad aswell. if it keeps blowing the fuse its definately a short in the guages. mine had the same problem the guages were working for rpm and mph but the lcd was burnt out and would cause a short . hope this helps
