I have a question and wanted to ask the professionals. Quick run down... I have an 06 RXP that has fresh supercharger rebuild (PWC Muscle), less the 45 minutes on it and new Solas impeller with the same amount of time. The Ski has 99 hours and looks brand new as it has always been garage kept. Now the problem. It appears that the engine has catastrophic internal injuries (thrown rod, antifreeze drained to block) so the block is not any good. Rebuilt block is about $2k and I can do the work myself for the replacement.

What are your thoughts as to what the ski is worth AS IS and also with new block installed. As always, I appreciate any feedback.

Best advice I can give you is look at pwc trader and Craigslist in your local area and see what people are paying for jet skis like yours in your area . Because prices vary by location . For example you will fetch more on the market in mi. oh. area than you will in Florida

With a 10 year old ski, it has gotten to the point that if you are looking to sell it after you put in a new engine, you won't recoup your costs either in dollars or time. Your ski is worth more right now parted out than selling as is. If you sell it whole, typical prices I have seen lately range from $750 to $1,500. Both of my current skis ('05 RXP and RXT) were blown up projects. I paid about $1K each. I rebuilt them with all the good stuff, the 042 Iwis cam chain, '08 oiler setup, latest SC rebuild kit, late flywheel bolts, '08+ inconel valves. In other words, better than they were new when they were originally sold. I wasn't looking to sell them once I was done, I was basically getting a new ski for less than half the price of a new ski. If you go out to buy a used ski with rebuilt engine, it is a crap shoot, you have no idea what you are buying, so the value is not there. I know what I have and am comfortable that they will last.
