I have a 2005 Sportster that starts fine but throws one long beep right after starting. It runs in limp mode.
last year I replaced the voltage regulator and it cured the problem. I will do a bit more investigating today to see if the battery voltage is OK. I felt the voltage regulator and it feels quite hot….. I think warmer than it should be. What could cause the regulator to fail again? ( if this is the cause)
Could the alarm be related to a faulty temperature sensor?
