2005 Seadoo Utopia stalling

We have a Seadoo Utopia 2005. Last summer it stalled in the lagoon when ideling in no wake zone, shuts down and after 15 mins starts back up. This happened just a few times. This summer just had spring service so the fuel filter was replaced. Its now doing it again. It only happens when going very slow in no wake zone. When it stalls and starts back up after 10-15 mins and we get it into the bay it runs awesome! Some said it could be the Throttle position sensor while another person said it has something to do with the gas/water seperator. Our mechanic wants nothing to do with seadoo jet boats at this point due to parts not being available. Help! We'd hope this is an easy fix with the help of you all.

Your mechanic is mistaken about parts. 99.9% of the parts on the engine are the same as the the outboard uses. Some are crazy expensive, but are available. Other parts are generic and more affordable. Example: Merc OEM injector pump: $800. Aftermarket: $60.

Can you be more specific about what engine you have?

If you have a 2005, I believe it has a different tps that is much less $.

Its a Mercury Optimax 250 V6 3.0. Have you ever heard of this problem?

The water/gas separator can be removed and dumped into a bowl. Check that for water. If you have water present, obviously it is coming from the gas tank. You may need to clean out the tank. You can't siphon from the fill hole.

The filter is not terribly expensive. Replace it. Save the old one. If there is no improvement, you have a spare filter.

No wake zones are hard on 2-stroke engines. Usually fouled spark plugs. Have they been checked or changed lately?
