Heard of the problems with the ceramic washers in the supercharger. My unit has 110 hours and have not had any problems.

Not sure if this is a widespred issue over many units or just some of the units are having the problem.

Any thoughts????

If you are certain that your crankcase has never been filled the synthetic oil, then you'll be fine. You would probably still want to change them out, especially since your over the 100 hour maintenance mark.

The ceramic washers became a problem when shops assumed that becaused the N/A motors used synthectic oils, the SC and SCIC motors would to. The synthetic oil caused the ceramic washers to be to slippery to efficiently control the slippage of the charger gear, then it caused the rapid break-down, until they disentagrated, stopping up your internal oil porting with fine particles of the ceramic washers.

If you've not used the synth oil, pull the charger for the 100 hour rebuild, use the new washers. You should not have to pull the motor to do a clean out of the system, as long as you can account for the entire washer set.

A good mechanic can do this in his home shop with standard engine rebuild tools. The manual for rebuilding the SuperCharger is a must. There are close tolerances that must be followed and checked at certain points of rebuild. This turbine runs in excess of 40,000 rpm. So, I wouldn't trust just anyone with tool to do a rebuild on it.

But, to answer the question, no, it's not hard.

ATTENTION 2004-2007 SEA-DOO RXP, RXT, GTX and 215 WAKE OWNERS: Sea-Doo (BRP) has agreed to a proposed class action settlement covering the ceramic washer problem with 2004-2007 4-Tec Series supercharged watercraft. Owners who purchased these boats in CA can submit claims for reimbursement of costs associated with washer failures and for costs incurred to replace the ceramic washers. Also, BRP is extending warranty coverage on washer failure. Here is the link to the settlement website, which includes details and a claim form:

thanks for the info. It sad that seadoo don't admit their fault. They remind me of car manufactures trying to cover their mistakes
