I would like to say, the Most important thing is a Shop Manual. It will become your
best friend, and has Wonderful pictoral explainations. MAINTENANCE X 100!!!!!!

Remove both the Starter and Battery and Load Test them. This will eliminate one or the other as your cause of no start. If the battery has sat without a battery tender
on it, chances are it has sulfated and no only can muster a few CCA's. Bills86e

I wouldn't remove the starter until I had the battery checked. The starter is not a easy part to remove. The battery is. The battery and electrical connections are the weak links in the starting system, so make sure you have a good battery and connections before anything else is done.
