I'm in the process of getting my SeaDoo ready for summer in the north Lake Tahoe, California region (actually Donner Lake).
I purchased the kit containing an oil filter, one gallon of synthetic blend oil, 3 spark plugs, and two o-rings.
The question that I have is there were two o-rings in the kit, and I'm not sure whether both are used.
When I removed the cover on the oil filter housing, there was only one "thin" o-ring under it. I don't believe that there was a second o-ring that might have fallen off, but I'm not certain of that.
I replaced this o-ring with the thin o-ring that came with the kit, and everything went back together fine. However, I have seen reference to using the second, thicker o-ring, around the circumference of the part of the cover that sits inside the oil filter housing. There is a groove in the cover that looks like it should hold an o-ring.
Can anyone advise whether this larger cross-section o-ring is required in addition to the thinner one under the cover?
Thanks,
Dick
