I recently purchased a 2004 Sportster and am looking to install a stereo and two flushmount speakers in the boat. Thinking of installing the stereo to the left and below the switch consol above the left knee of the driver. One speaker to the front of the front storage compartment and one by the left shoulder of the rear facing seat. Any thoughts if this will impact any funtionality of the boat or if structure will be an issue? Or if anyone has installed a stereo in this boat your help is greatly appreciated. The portable radio is getting old having to hold onto it while driving.

Thanks in advance!

You can easily do that. Look in the modify section or try the search feature and you will find penty of boats with radios installed including a few in the sportster's. I would advise against your speaker placement though. Try to keep them somehwat symmetrical in the boat. Like 2 in the passenger area on opposite sides from each other.

Thank you, this wouldn't affect the structrual integrity of the sides if I put 6x9" speakers correct. also do you just connect the stereo direct to the battery with an inline fuse

It wont hurt the boat. Look at my pic, i got lots of holes.lol You can connect to the battery or find another hot wire under the hood. The battery would be the best spot though.

do you recommend a second battery? Just had voltage regulator replaced due to it failing and putting boat into limp mode. Dont want to mess with the electrial too much.
