All:

I received this code today while out test riding. I see that there are 2 switches/sensors that are recommended to change when this code is seen. One is by the fill neck p/n 420256885 but where is the other and what is the part number? This is a newly bought used seadoo so we are trying to get it ready for the spring. Also would the motor being over full on oil create this issue? Just checked it and it is a little high on the dipstick.

Thank you!!!!

From the Seadoo manual:

P1202 - "Oil tank pressure switch implausible or blow-by valve still closed"

Possible cause:
Damaged oil pressure switch, blow-by valve failure, damaged circuit wires, damaged connector or damaged ECM pins.

Did the ski go into limp mode? Does the code stop beeping when the engine is warmed up?

Yes it did go in limp mode. I dont get the code until the engine is warm but I have not removed the key and restarted as recommended on other threads. Plan on getting both sensors and an oil change this week.

Yes, both sensors have been updated so replace them.

The oil pressure switch is located towards the rear of the engine, on the rt. side about half way down.

Part no. 420 856 538

Ok so here is an update. Last night I changed the oil and noticed a slight gas smell in the oil. Went to remove filter and found out it was install in June of 2005. When I removed the filter it was dry. Should I be worried about this? I did not start it last night because I removed the oil sensors while I had the chance and hopefully the new ones will arrive today.

you may have a leak somewhere thats causing your gasoline to mix in with your oil reservoir, ask around because im really not sure,

So yesterday I replaced both sensors and took it out for a test run. It ran good and strong with zero codes!! Only hiccup I had was once I was running at 55 mph and then it dropped to 50mph,I came to a dead stop and lanched it which caused the rev limiter to kick in. I let off the throttle and the engine turned off. Then it did not want to start (engine hard to turn over) I let it sit for a minute and restarted with zero issues for about an hour until we put it on the trailer for the day. Thanks to everyone for your help!!

I've got the same P code on my 03. When you replaced the sensors did you have to watch out about oil spilling? Also do I need to use any dielectric grease?

What is the best way to reach this sensor for replacement on my 03 GTX SC? Its burried and looks unreachable without removing the throttle body or some oil lines. I thought I might get lucky and be able to reach it using a deep well socket but the pto intake bracket feels to be in the way.
