The 717cc engine....
The GTI has the 717cc engine and is not a real high powered engine. It's making 85 horsepower on the engine and 35 hp at the pump.
Your top speed? .......I'd have to guess somewhere around 30 or 35 mph. It's a 3 passenger ski which means it's mostly used for touring.
The 717cc engine is a very dependable engine because it has no RAVE system and only has one carb, therefore, less maintenance.:cheers:

thanks for the reply,i took it for a spin and it was good for the first 15 mins but it died after 15 mins,was trying to give it throttle but it was still dying out,where i bought was 500 miles away so i wonder if the trip was a bit long as i did not put any gas in it,it had about about less than a quarter of a tank,please help as i only just purchased it,thanks.

So it died on you. You said it had a quarter tank of petrol in it. Did you put anymore in it? You may have run it low and the reserve line isn't hooked up.
What did it do when it died? Did it spit and sputter or just shut down? Have you looked at the condition of the petrol? Does it have any signs of water in it? There should be an inline fuel filter. Check it, let us know how it looks.
What color are your fuel lines?
Last, how do your spark plugs look? Look at the bottom of my signature. There is a link to the "snipes korner". There, you'll find a page with spark plug conditions, what you need to look at if the engine is burning clean. There are pictures for you to compare to.
There is a complete catalog of troubleshooting here for the fuel system etc... in the forum.........
Post back when you can try and get a bit more descriptive of your info. :cheers:

Thanks for the quick reply,it did sputter alright.I didn't put any gas in it and the filter looked clean and the fuel pipes are black and as well as that when i put the key in it does 4 quick beeps,i'm praying that its nothing serious,as well as that is there any way of increasing the hp on it so i could get more mph.
