First of all Hello to everyone in the forums.
.
I have just purchased a pre loved 2004 GTI LE RFI. With approx 80 hrs running time. Without going into huge amounts of detail, i think i have been played by some "less than professional" repairs at some stage. Dont know by who and at this stage and dont care much just want to get the thing running again, so we can have some fun, or sell it and get something more reliable. I must say my first dealings in the Jetski world have been far from pleasant so far.

Essentially after 2 hours of running time the flywheel nut came lose and spun out pushing the plastic oil pump drive shaft into the housing and melting it into a blob against the oil pump, also leaving the flywheel rattling around to damage the crank and bore of the flywheel. My guess is that it wasnt tensioned up correctly.

Is there any way of pulling apart the little oil injection pump to check the insides or are they a sealed unit?
Also how hard should they be to turn over by hand (mine turns over but is kinda stiff)?
seadoo Tech guy suggested to run a cordless drill on the pump to see if oil pumps out but nothing seems to happen in either direction, how much oil should i see being pumped out if it was pumping?

Can anyone advise of other things i should be perhaps looking into while i have this thing apart?

Thanks in advance. :)

Bump :)
OK, so i think i have sorted out a fix for most of the issues, but most likely i will still have to replace or repair the crank and flywheel.
Is it possible to just replace the crank or are these match machined to suit bearings etc?
How many hours approx would it take to remove / replace?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

OK So im going down the track of replacing the engine, my next problem now is that i am unable to souce a second hand flywheel. From what i am told the RFI flywheel is somewhat different to the Standard 787 flywheel. Can someone confirm this please? I have access to a standard flywheel and i was wondering what the difference is? Is it possible to transfer the center hub part from a standard flywheel into an RFI flywheel?
Also have i placed this thread in the wrong location? It doesnt seem to be getting much of a response,? If so can someone please move it to the correct location please?
