We are having lots of trouble with our 2004 GTI LE. Problems started last year with bolts breaking off that we had to have repaired. The broken bolts caused water to get into the Seadoo which probably caused the issue we are having this year. This year we have another broken bolt and the crank needs to be replaced which will cost +$1700. The mechanic thinks the crank issue is due to water getting into the engine. We have never flipped the SeaDoo and the only way water was in the engine is when three bolts broken off last year. Several mechanics have told us that broken bolts is a known problem with the GTIs because they vibrate so much. Can someone confirm that this is true?

I am undecided on whether to get this Seadoo fixed because of the known broken bolt issue. If we have to fix a broken bolt every month or so, the SeaDoo is not reliable enough to let anyone ride off on it because we never know when a bolt might breakoff and leave the rider stranded.

Does anyone else have a broken bolt issue with the GTIs or do we just have a lemon of a SeaDoo? I know that if we buy a new PWC it will not be a SeaDoo. If you want to keep customers coming back, you need to build a reliable product. This SeaDoo has not been driven hard. Mainly, our kids just ride it around.

Thanks.

What bolts are breaking? I have never heard of a Seadoo having this problem before. Got to be a reason. Seadoo will always be the most reliable PWC on the water in my opinion.

Three bolts from the exhaust manifold which left one remaining. These missing bolts caused a lot of water to get into the hull almost covering the motor. We had to have them tapped out and then replaced. Then, this year, a bolt broke off the exhaust along with the engine breakdown.
