I have a 2003 seadoo gtx and have problems with the topps valve it keeps clicking evening with the dess key off, so I installed a switch so can turn it off when not in use.
Can I just do away with it and let the engine breath all the time,?
Thank you

You can but it is not advisable on ski's, boats yes. TOPS essentially prevents oil from leaking out of the engine (and water in) in the event a a complete rollover. Not really and issue with boats, but on PWC it can easily happen. It serves no other purpose.

If you do not wish to troubleshoot and try and fix this back to working order you can simply remove the 2 disk plungers that are on the tops valve, effectively disabling it.

I do believe you need to keep it plugged in or you will get a computer falt code. With the plungers off, the tops valve can still cycle but there are no ports in the breather neck to block off which renders it useless.
