I was having issues with starting our seadoo and unfortunately used a battery jumper without the knowledge of the consequences. From what I've read I can replace the diode in the MPEM and it may correct the issue. The problem that I am having is that I have the parts but can not find a diagram to locate this diode. Any help on locating it would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Have you looked at the shop manual for your ski? Type "Sea Doo manuals net" on Google and you should find it. I also have a GTI 2003 and I downloaded the shop manual a few years back. Document has 779 pages so I am not sure if you'll find what you are looking for in it. Check it out.

Benji.

Yes I've already downloaded the shop manual for this model with no success. They don't show the layout since most people won't want to dig out the diode to replace it and save the money.
Thanks

Here are pictures of my 1996 where I dug in the rubber to find the diode. I ordered some diodes that arrived today. Way out of my element on this but not too many people are into this type of repair. Not sure if I got the correct one but... I got about 8 of those babies and I have a plan. I now need to order a soldering kit that is small enough to use on the board.

Recommendations on type of solder and gun would be great. I know I need that little vacuum thing to suck up the solder as it melts.

Or don't. Cut the leads near the diode and solder your new one to those leads. It sill just be a little higher than it used to be.

Yes cool idea. I have no tools at all that will get this job done. I was thinking of making the diode accessible outside the box. :) for a test. I don't know what is blowing the diode yet and I don't want to sacrifice any more ECMs. After I get it figured out. I have a replacement coil, rectifier (book says the rectifier can't be tested due to internal circuits), and went ahead and got the coils for the inside the engine.

Thanks for the input !!
