We took our 2003 Sea Doo GTX out on the lake for the first time this year; everything worked fine. The second time out the mode button is stuck on lake temp. We are assuming it is some kind of sensor that needs replaced. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it something that we can fix ourselves or will it require a trip to the shop? Any help is greatly appreciated.

When a sensor goes out, it will either give a bad reading, no reading or completely disappear from the menu. It won't get stuck on it. I suspect your mode button is not working.
FYI, the lake water temp sensor is in the speed sensor in the triangular shaped box with the paddle wheel at the back right of your ski. They do fail quite a bit but it won't get stuck on that function.
