Troubleshooting an 03' GTX SC Limited that my Son & I picked up for a summer project. The Previous Owner stated " An electrical issue" which I'm tracking down. They said the engine would just turn over when you connected the battery up.I first checked the Start / Stop Button, when I removed the cover the switch was gone, and the wires were connected together. Thought I had it solved, I disconnected the 2 wires and connected the battery up and the starter engaged and turned over the motor. Note: The DESS Key is not on the post.
Next went to the solenoid and that shows open when the battery is disconnected, and when I remove the 12V signal wire to the solenoid and connect back up to the battery it won't try to turn over. The Previous Owner replaced the MPEM. What would cause power to go to the solenoid to activate it without the DESS on, and the key switch wires separated. Anyone run into this issue before? Any assistance is greatly appreciated
