:boxing_smiley:No problem w/ski since new (2003)...until "maint" message started @ 150 hrs. Started to misfire one day, so we put in new plugs (bought new for just such a problem). Always runs good , but started to beep and display "check engine" only after slowing down to idle speed. Took to dealer which was not a very good experience. They charged to clear comp (which was done) & to water test ski (which was not done). Got it back and ran 500-1000 feet out of marina only to hear "beep". Returned to dealer who now thinks the $580.00 LCD gauge is bad (mostly communications codes stored), but they can't be sure. Any ideas?
P.S. Have been a professional mechanic and owned my own shop for 32 years. This proprietary BUDS deal is total crap, and I would never have bought the ski if I had known ahead of time. We (mechanics) deal with problems way beyond this elementary level every single day. My instinct is to say to the dealer, "give ME that damn scanner and go get some coffee or something!". This hit and miss diagnostic approach is so unprofessional.
