2003 GTX 4-Tec SC - connector problems

I'm hoping someone may have some suggestions....the locking tabs on the connectors going to the MPEM are broken. The connectors won't fully seat and therefore dead ski. I was having some intermittent problems with it going totally dead and realized the bottom tab was gone, now the top. I'm hearing the only solution is replacing the wiring harness? Does anyone have another idea? I swapped the MPEM a couple of seasons ago and my wife has issue with pouring more $ into a 20 year old ski....everything else on it is sound and runs great. I've rigged large zip ties around tightly around the mpem to help hold the plug on and has held for the last few years without any issues on a ski I winterize every year.

and…use carb/brake cleaner to thoroughly clean out any dielectric grease on both sides,,,since it can prevent the female coupler from seating,,,it is an air tight fit.

Thanks for your replies ski-d00 and POPPS. ski-d00, did you zip-tie around the perimeter of the connectors or shimmy it in between the wires?
