2003 GTI LE - Help?

It was running fine last weekend and when my son went to use it this last weekend - the battery was low. It beeped but would not turn over.

My son changed the battery and accidentally reversed the poles when installing it.

We put the newly battery in correctly - but now get no beep or anything?

We checked the fuses in the main engine cavity (near the batter) but they were good.

Are there other fuses or areas we should check??

Any ideas before I bring back to the shop (which I would hate to do)

I think there are other fuses in rear elect. box and fuses at front

Looking at my guide for my 2002 gti it has fuses at MPEM and rear elect. box. The MPEM is up front by the battery, should be 2 fuses there. Hope this helps.
