I have spent a couple of hours searching through threads trying to come up with a solution for my new (to me, anyway) Explorer... I purchased this rig from a neighbour who is also a mechanic- I think I will go back to him shortly with a few questions... he runs 2 other 'doos all summer so he may have have some insight.
First I have attempted to educate myself regarding the 717 Rotax. I have read numerous threads regarding fuel lines/carb filters/spark plugs- also something about a fuel regulator(?) on top of the tank...
My question is: My Explorer will run for 20-30 mins WOT or cruising without any hesitation... then the fun starts- bogging-stalling:ack:,,,seems to restart and run- not sure for how long though as I am usually looking for the harbor entrance -trying to get it back home without freeking the kids out too much!
Please confirm I should: 1. Replace (which filters?,fuel lines) Spark plugs, oil,new fuel?) Carb filters? 2> Rebuild carb, rave valves.
A quick 'search and see(k) this thread' reply would also be most helpfull!
