I grab rotating seal face with my hand and push it toward the back of the ski then take a pair of pliers and push the clip out (one side of the pliers for each side.) Gotta put your game face on cuz it's tough to get in there and GIT SUM.Reading the suggestion I will considering making a device to remove the clip. I do enough of these to warrant making life a little easier.

If you just want to remove the pump to eliminate it being the cause of a seized system, you do not have to pull the shaft. Just disconnect linkages to steering, vts, reverse gate, undo bolts remove pump.
But if I wanna pull the motor I gotta remove the shaft ?
Well mine don’t wanna move much lol she needs some help
Truth be told... I have tapped one or two with a dead blow mallet to break it loose. Very gently. One or two and that is all. Spray some penetrate on that baby...
It works a little better for me to put the handle end over the stainless hat pointing downward and rest the pliers against the lip that rest against the carbon ring. One handle on each side the shaft. Put the ends of the handles behind the block of wood and pull back on the other end of pliers which is now pointing upwards. Cable tie around handle under shaft helps keep the handles from separating. It should not take much pressure at all to move the stainless hat back if pump is still on.
The shaft typically stays in the ski, either the carbon seal or the PTO boot holds it in.
I would sent the impeller to Impros for refurbishment. It will look brand new.
