2002 gtx di

I bought a new GTX DI in 2002 and have used it every year since. It has a total of 91 hours, has been serviced when needed, is winterized every year and stored in my garage. It has been run in freshwater only. On 8/2/09 it ran erractically and was difficult to start. When I took in my dealer they said it had only 50 psi in one of the cylinders and needed a rebuilt engine for $4,700. Based on the retail book of the unit running of $4,500 that makes no sense. I contacted Bombardier and got the "sorry, out of warranty" reply. I have written to the chairman of the company but I am not optimistic. I have heard that this is a common problem with this unit that occurs between 80 and 120 hours. When my unit was in, another 2002 GTX DI was there with the same problem. You would think Bombardier would know about this and get the word out. Anybody else out there with this or a similar problem?
