i have a 2002 gtx di and up until yesterday it ran fine. when u start the unit it beeps and displays "maintenance" then it goes into limp mode and will not rev more than about 4750 rmp. i had charging issues last year and replaced the rectifier last fall and the unit has worked awesome since. after doing some research on these forums and my shop manual i am leaning towards the problem being a throttle position sensor. from what i understand the only way to diagnose for sure is to have it scanned at the dealer. problem is my dealer is booking into september and that means im out for the rest of summer. i have removed the intake boots and i have access to the tps. the sensor is only about $60 and looks fairly simple to change but i also read that the sensor needs to be programmed into the computer when changed resulting in taking it to the dealer once agian. if anyone has and suggestions so i can get this thing back on the water before summer is over it would be greatly appreciated.

maybe another bad rectifier? i would check the voltage while running. id hate to see you throw parts at it. or buy a candoo pro so you dont have to wait and pay a dealer. if you have a manual you can always ohm test the tps sensor.

ya good call ill check the voltage before i do anything. it starts and i dont get the 12 volt message so i dont think rectifier but it cant hurt to rule it out for sure

The DI will trip the maint light from too low of voltage, or too high. Its a fussy one ;)

IT also uses a redundant set of TPS sensors, so there are two of them & if you remove one, it will require a reset.

I agree with Jammin. Don't start throwing parts at it. Check the voltages you have before starting it, while its idling & what you have at 4-5K

Does the maint light come on right away, or after its running? Throw us a few more details if you can.

as soon as u start it it has one long beep and says maintenance and the red light is on. then if u get on the throttle it does it agian. the maintainence message and light stay on but it beeps at first start then every minute or so. it will reach just under 5000 rpm and that is it. im going to test my voltages when i get a chance and then go from there. i found a seadoo dealer about an hour away that can get the seadoo in for a scan within a few days so worst case scenario i can take it in there. the forum solved my problem last time so ill give it a shot before i go for a drive.

I would check the voltage regulator. Had the same problem with my 02 DI. Voltage regulator was on the edge of the tolerances. Dealer scanned and said the MPEM was bad. Replaced voltage regulator problem fixed.

Sorry for the late response. We'll looks like u guys may have been right. I have another charging issue by the looks of it. I gave the battery a charge and now the alarm is gone until it looses charge again. I put the voltmeter on it and I am getting no charge to the battery. I probably only have 8 or 10 hours on the machine since I changed the rectifier last. Do they really go that fast? Or do I have other issues here
