2002 gtx di FAIL!!!

Anyone know of common fuel or oiling issues with the direct injection motors 951?
I was riding for 5miles with no odd sounds, calm water, 5k rpm, out of nowhere boom! I havent tore into the engine just yet, however it is clear the connecting rod broke on the pto cylinder and went thru the reed case and the lower end of the block....with the throttle bodies off and the reed block off it is very clear its trashed. I dont know yet if the piston stuck or what... i know thats usually the cause of connecting rod failure
the oil system was flawless all the hoses seemed fine as in no breaks,pinches whatnot. the fuel was questionable, as were the plugs that had rust at the base.
It started right up and ran. I drove for another two miles to my cabin watching the water flow in faster than the siphons could pull it out. when i pulled the plug wires and it died on the first one. restart... then i realized the back clyinder was dead. it sure viberates with only one of two pistons moving. I thought my jetpump caught some ice bag at first. I obviously had high hopes..
any ideas would be awsome...
