Got a 2002 seadoo GTI that takes off great from the dock. Once it gets warmed up though, it won't get back on top. Sounds smooth and will get to about 22 mph, but won't quite plane. Had wear ring replaced which service guy said was the problem. It was scored in a couple places, but same thing. First run is great. Ran it nearly 20 minutes on top before slowing down. Tried to get it back on top and max of ~22mph again. New plugs - same thing. Anybody got any suggestions?:

Symtoms described sounds like fuel system failure. Is the engine too hot to touch
when this occurs? BR8ES *plugs gaped .021? Do a compression test to know the
engines internal health. Should be around 150 psi. Bill

Water in rear box? That can short the coil.

Agreed^

Also, check exhaust for leaks (or just run the ski with the cover off to see if it runs better). An exhaust leak could be choking the engine
