2002 Challenger - Gauges not working after ignition work

Hi folks, Popped the boat in the water (2002 Challenger 1800, 210 M2 Jet) last weekend and no dice. Turned over but no spark at the engine. Fixed this past week at a shop- stator needed to be replaced.

Here's the funny thing: boat starts and runs great but:
1. None of the gauges work. Oil light does blink at start. Checked the fuse at the gauges and it is fine.
2. After it has been running a while, turning the key off doesn't always shut it off- just keeps running. Have to hit the kill switch to turn it off.

Any ideas on either of these? I'll be taking it back to the shop on Tuesday but I was just thinking that (1) may be something simple, and for (2) I'd really like to get some info about your opinions on this so I am armed with some level of understanding when I bring it back.

Thanks!

Fuses

When you say the fuse was fine did you check to see if it had power, or just do a visual inspection? There is a fuse in a loose fuse holder back by the engine that sends power to the fuse box for the gauges and the bilge pump. If you get no power at the fuse in the fuse box it may be the one by the engine.

With the way it will sometimes not turn off, the other possibility is the ignition switch is bad. Check your power and ground at the gauges and see what you get.

RE: Fuses

Thanks! I only did a visual inspection of the fuse that sits just behind the gauges. I'll look into the power/ground question. I really appreciate the quick reply!

Solenoid, grounds

Well, went out on the boat without the gauges working, had a great day until... the starter stuck on. Finally gave up and took it to the shop. Solenoid was fried and the gauges issue turned out to be a loose ground. All better... for now!

Thanks again.
