Hello guys, new guy here. Only owned one ski a long time ago, it was a 1990 lol.

I found a good with a 2001 RX DI for 500$, well it's actually a trade for one of my RC toys.
He says the ski sat on a lift unused for a couple years and won't turn over now but was running when it was put away.
I've read some nasty things about the DI motors so I'm a little skeptical about trying this deal out.
I have mechanical knowledge and I figured if I got it my best bet is to just narrow down the part that is seized. Whether that is the pump or motor or air compressor according to the manual.
What do you guys think would be the best course of action or should I just avoid it?

I'm usually a fan of diy projects like this

Thanks guys!

Ok,, Di skis cost much more to fix, are harder to diagnose, and few can really help you well as they are a beast to their own. When they are running well, people love them. When they are not, they HATE them.

I would never own a Di ski. That said, many do and as I said above, they do like them.

That said, they ONLY way to look at this ski is to assume you will need an engine. If you look at this any other way you will be very upset when you have ti invest more than a grand to get it running.

Further, if you need a fuel pump for this ski, it is big dollars, many hundreds of dollars. My point is,, you can VERY easily need more than an engine.

At the very least even if you get lucky, I can all but promise you that you will need a starter and a battery. And aftermarket starters will not hold up,,,,
