2001 GTX with bottom engine rattle

I purchased a 2001 GTX a couple of months ago for $600.
Person sold the ski because it developed a slight rattle noise in the bottom of the engine. Ski still runs
and starts right up.
He gave me a shop manual with the ski and inside the manual was tons of receipts. Over $6000 worth
of work done to this Ski in the last 2 years. I swear almost everything in this ski was replaced from these
receipts. Even the engine. The engine was a rebuilt from 2 years ago.

I feel personally that they may have not put enough oil into the bottom of the engine. This may be all that it
is, however I have never dealt with the fuel injected 951 engine before. This is my first.

Could the rattle be anything else? If it is the oil could someone tell me what type of oil and how much should be added? Any help would be appreciated. It is a great looking ski and considering all the parts replaced if it is just the oil I think I got a great deal.

The rattle you are describing I would bet are the crank bearings. The oil you add is for the crank and counter balance gear. It is 40 ml of synthetic gear oil. It is the same used on the jet pump.

If you do a search, you should find some about changing the oil by pumping it out with a flavor injector for meat.

Thanks Tkarvelis

So adding oil as you stated will not help the crank bearings? Does fixing the crank bearings mean a bottom end rebuild?

I am going to add what one receipt I have for this GTX says was done 2 years ago. Cost $3,587.87 by Perry Performance Group in Dania Beach, FL

This is a 3 page receipt so the list is long.

Rattle or knock? Rattle could be anything including the famous sea doo pump rattle. Knock would have me concerned quite a bit.

I am going out to the ski today. Will make video of it running if I get it started. Have not heard it run since I bought it. I want to confirm as well if it is a rattle or knock but from memory it was not a knocking that I remember. It was not a loud sound. Sounded like a rattle coming from bottom of engine. I will also unhook the jet pump. I did see a video on you tube where a person had same issue. They also had a 2001 GTX and sound in video from my memory was the same. He took off Jet pump and engine purred like a kitten. So I will try this today also.

It is very common for the seadoo's to have a rattle at idle in or out of the water. It is the design of the pump. To be 100% sure pull the pump and driveshaft.

Just finished playing with the GTX. This is the first time I have been able to play with it since I bought it. I put a charged battery in and it started right away. Most of the information I listed above from rattling was from the original owner. He did start it for me but I did not see anything drastic that day. Right now I honestly do not see anything when it was running to give me major cause for concern. It is running a little rough but It started right away and I heard no rattling out of the ordinary (I have another 951 ski).
There was a slight ticking sound though. I did add oil directly to the cylinders and this subsided for the brief moment. The maintenance warning is coming on though.
