Hey...I just bought my first seadoo. It's a 2001 GTX-RDI..I'm wondering if there anyway I can bypass the oil pump and just use pre-mix gas in my tank20210421_093111.jpg

You can but why would you want to?

The Seadoo system is Bulletproof and will save you a ton in oil and headache.

The only parts that fail are the little 3/32” oil lines from the pump to the intake that should be changed every 10 years. That’s it. Verify you are running the correct API-TC full synthetic oil.

Thank you for your reply. I just thought if the pump failed that you could burn up the engine pretty quick...I just see alot of people prefixing there fuel..the guy who I got it off of just buys the 2 stroke oil from Walmart are they a 2 stroke that you recommend to use. It's my first time ever owning a seadoo and some help would be awesome...

Looks like an RFI and I wouldn't run premix through the injectors anyway.

Lots of us Old Schools guys have experienced what happens when an oil system fails. I don't blame you... LOL But these oil systems seem to work. I don't remove them and I'm pretty hard core old school. :D If you need any help with this thing, hit me up. these are my favorite. I got 3 outside at the moment. :D

So when I bought it the guy put a new top end on it so he put some premix in the fuel tank with the oil injection full as well ...he said everything worked great and I took his word for it . So I took it home and put it on the lake and it started up great went to go for a spin and it fouled the plugs so I went and got 2 more plugs. Than they fouled but there was only a quarter of a tank when I got it so I filled it with Supreme. Thinking that it wouldt do it and still fouls the plugs..

Check the oil setting. How much smoke are you seeing? Are you doing a whole lot of idling? I talked to Dale at thefuelinjectorman.com and he told me it would not hurt anything to run premix through the injectors. I did 50:1 my first tank on the RFI and just kept adding fuel and no oil. I only get to ride the skis a few hours but I didn't have any problems. I didn't run premix on my last two but I put a few ounce in the crank case. :D You got me re-thinking..... I might do 80:1 premix with the next RFI I'm about to put on the water.

Did you get the injectors cleaned? If the spray pattern is bad it won't burn as clean as it should. You might have to do some ohm checks on your sensors just to be sure. I think the Air pressure sensor would be the one to check or the TPS.

I also have similar problem put clean new plugs in and will run but not properly and fouls them up in water but seems to be fine on trailer

The Can Doo CAN'T DO much with the RFI but it can check a few things. I much prefer to run down the problem using conventional troubleshooting. Pull Plug 4 from the MPEM and check resistances. Could you guys have a problem with the rectifier?? They are cheap enough to replace. Good Night and Good Luck ! :)

And another question..my exhaust was burnt up the plastic cooling tanks the guy who I bought it from replaced it with truck radiator hose I'm not sure if that's gonna work. Can you buy a bypass kit for the exhaust

I'd look at the water control valve and such to make sure it is functioning. Exhaust should not get that hot. All the skis have a rubber hose for exhaust. Some melt for different reasons, some come apart internally. All parts of the exaust system should be not be so hot that you can't touch them. Skin burns at 119 degrees and at 130 degrees you can put your hand on there for a few seconds. I check all my skis like this. If it is HOT to the touch and you can't put your hand on it... the temp buzzer is gonna sound soon. Just on observation. I'm a hands on kinda guy. LOL Good Luck !

So the rectifier is the box with 3 yellow wires and a red and black?
Disconnected yellow wire plug it and would still run put plug in disconnected red and black plug still run then totally unplugged and ran ,
Thought may have been problem as when started on trailer is revs we’re higher.
Has only been about 1500 out of water but went to nearly 2700. Took it to dam but no better but battery 12 low kept flashing

If your battery isn't charging this is a good suspect. It changes AV/Voltage from the coil to DC and charges the battery. Without it connected the SKI runs off the battery. Unplugging it is merely a test. Battery voltage with everything working and the ski running should probably be 13+. Definitely run cooling water to the engine if you are going to run it more than a few seconds. Good Luck !

Retested today and yes charging about 13.4 when running
