2001 GTX RFI overheating issue

So I purchased two 2001 GTX and the owner said that the one machine would have overheating or something like that come up on the dash. I have not looked into this much yet but looking for recommendation on what to check to see why this might be happening

Have you ran it on the water and seen if the light comes on? Trust but verify for yourself what people say. If you have a infrared thermometer gun , run the ski and see if it actually goes above temp. If you don't have that gun, you can check the temp sensor to make sure it is working.

Check out my threads, I did a lot of different things to diagnose my over heat problem. I got it fixed but it took a few try's, doing different things .

I just picked them up on Sunday so I have not had them out on the water yet. Still a little cold to do so. I will check each hose and see if there is any blockage. Once done I plan on bring it down to the water and leaving it on the trailer but backing it into the water. I will run it in the water and make sure I have water coming out from the back and see if it over heats

Most actual overheating is from the cooling lines getting plugged with sand and debris.

Hook the garden hose up to the black hose fitting on the back up next to the pump. Start the engine and turn the hose on to flush out any debris. Then turn the hose off and then last the engine. NEVER EVER have the hose on with the engine off or you will ruin the engine.
