When this machine is put on the hose on the trailer it runs perfect but in the water I can only get around 3000 RPMs this morning. I put new plugs in prior to going out as well. It gives spurts where she tries to bring up the RPMs but then bogs again. I compression tested the machine keeping one plug in and she is pretty even on both cylinders with one showing 90 - 95 (forward) and the other 100 - 110 (aft). I believe they are low because there is a common intake manifold on this machine according to the shop manual. I tried it without the plugs in and the forward one dropped down to 70 and the aft one went to 90. The shop manual just mentions a leak down test and no compression test. I don't have the equipment for a leak down test and used the compression tester to see if there were a big difference in the compression of the two cylinders. I know the cooling works now and with the seat off the cooling can be felt going through the engine and exhaust and comes out the tell tale hole.
Went out and treid her again in the water and she went up to 6500 RPMs and 60 mph for about 45 minutes then she seemed like she was losing power and stayed at 5380 rpms for 15 minutes then finally shut down. If she wasn't fuel injected I would think it was dirty carbs.
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions?
