The history of this machine is on another post (2001 GTX won't start).

However something has changed that might shine some light on a possible problem. I pulled the baffle and one of the hoses popped off. The filter at the bottom of the baffle was shot and I have replace that filter, reinstalled the baffle and made sure all fuel lines on the baffle were tight. Only the one line was loose. Again spraying a 40:1 fuel oil mixture into the carb I can get it to run and rev up for about 10 seconds and that's it. Before I did this recent work, the engine would only start and then die after the fuel I sprayed in was gone. So, the engine is pulling in some fuel but not for long. Any ideas? Someone suggested I pull the vacuum line and place it in a can of fuel mixture. I don't now which line is the vacuum line, but I sincerely appreciate the suggestion, but I need someone to draw me a picture. I am 55+, okay 58, and my body is 70+ but my mind keeps thinking I'm 21 and can fix anything. That just isn't the case anymore.Again, I would appreciate any help. Thanks!
Scott
I have not drained the gasoline that has been in the machine for four years (maybe 3 gallons). I added another 3 gallons of new fuel today. Not sure if this will help resolve the problem.
