Just starting my top end rebuild with an SBT cylinder exchange kit. Prior to starting I need to reseal the brass elbow water coolant nipples on each cylinder.

Will teflon tape work or is there a prefered high temp sealant?

Any advice would be appreciated

Teflon tape will work fine. Any type of pipe sealant. When tightening don't try to make that last full turn on the fitting. :D There isn't very much pressure in the system.

I also had a hard time seating the fuel rail. Ended up loosening all bolts on the exhaust and cylinders , then seating the fuel rail and tightening the rail, cylinders and exhaust in reverse. .

Next to the head bolts and rubber gaskets. What is the purpose of loctite 518. Does it seal the rubber gaskets or act as a lubricant?
