So la-ti-da. my mom decieded it was a good idea to fill my jetski with water(long story). So after we tow it back to shore(while compartment is 100% full), bad idea, but had no other choice.

We drained the machine in the water using a hand pump, let the machine dry out for a few days and began working on it. Cranked all the water out of the engine(motor is dry now). Test drove it, got 5minutes of idling out of the marina, when i gave it a bit of gas and boom motor died and would not start and had to be towed in again. After a few days I put some fresh plugs in, some STABIL in the gas tank, and appeared to be running well. However, got almost out of the marina, filled up the gas tank and finished off the STABIL. After that the machine cranks but will not start.

Seems to be a fuel issue? however my oil tank looks two-toned(like their is water in the bottom) I know the machine needs to get to a dealer like now. but if its dead in the water its not going anywhere!!

So, any ideas how i can limp this thing over to the boat launch and give the dealer some place to start( so they dont screw around and charge me out the A$$)

Thanks guys:rant:

sounds like you have trouble. . .

drain/ siphon out both tanks leave a little oil on the bottom of the oil tank. make sure the fuel tank is as dry as it can be.

mix up about 2-3 gallons of premix and put that in your tank. and 1/2 quart of good oil in the oil tank

consider the gas/oil contaminated. your mom's car will take the gas. the oil is probably no good except for the weedeater.

you need 3 things for ignition. fuel, spark, air

you'd addressed problem 1 with the contaminated fuel.

if it doesn't start now, check for spark, remove a spark plug and lay it on the head connected to the boot crank the motor over you should a little spark. you'll need some shade to see it.

if NO you have more issues IF yes. try dropping a little gas down the plug hole put the plug back in crank it over, it should start right up. at least for a sec or 2.

if you get it running good.

burn that 2-3 gallons out then fill it up again with premix. if your oil tank has emptied some you can quit the premix

can you at least humor us and tell us why your mom filled your jetski with water? First mistake was letting it sit for a few days before starting it. First question is your seadoo RFI or carbureted? I'm wondering if the stabil you used gummed up your carbs and fuel lines. Additives are known to do this when you put them in jetskis. I would first remove the oil in the bottom of the engine and replace it with fresh oil 30mL SAE 30 motor oil, take out the spark plugs, dry them off, put them (sparkplugs) on the holders where the spark plugs come out of the box to ground them, rotate the PTO and make sure it rotates easily, crank over the motor for 10 sec. reinstall the spark plugs and try and start it. I also took off my pump so the motor would have less resistance to start.
