Hello Sea-Doo forum,

I’m having an issue with my ski when I go full throttle, particularly when I’ve been riding for about 10-15 minutes. Typically this ski goes 65 no issue when wide open, but now when I try it bogs so to say, and jumps up and down speeds. When I switch to rpm mode it goes from 5000 down to 4850, 4650, all the way to 4450 then back up to 5000 over and over again. I’ve found that it’s better to go 3/4 throttle because it goes faster (consistent 55mph) and I know that’s not how it should be. Last weekend it was doing the same thing and I took it to a guy who hooked it up to seadoo computer and said he couldn’t find anything that was wrong with it. But did say he found a spark plug wire loose. Fast forward to this weekend, I put it in the water and the first 10 minutes its running like it should be. Then when I start really having fun a ripping it the overall mph drops from 65 to 58 then shortly after runs terrible full throttle, and thus I’m back to holding 3/4 and going no faster than 55mph. I’ve already replaced the fuel pump on it this year. I also checked the spark plugs and they seem to be fine. Is there anything else I should check?

Thanks again,

Ben Petrie

Did you replaced the fuel pump with a Sea Doo unit? If so, check your fuel pressure any way. A friend of mine replaced his in October and the following April/May with only about 20 hours, it failed again. Sea Doo would not provide assistance. It is probably fine, but I would still check it to be safe. Good luck!
