A friend gave me this for a project for me and grandsons. He said mechanic said it was a bad fuel pump. I replaced it with one suggested from this blog. new battery as well .Starts right up and revs well on hose. but just bogs when in the water. Cant find anyone local who can diagnose the issue it seems. It has 170 hours and very clean. I don't want to put too much into it if I don't have to. Just want to have a good time with it with Grandsons. I have some mechanical abilities as I did the pump work. just looking for an answer. I don't mind spending to get it going but need some thoughts to try to diagnose. Thank You and appreciate any help I can get,

You need to check fuel pressure at the rail. You need 107 psi at all times when in the water. I bet the aftermarket pump is not providing the proper pressure. Most of them do not. I would start here but I bet you have to purchase an oem pump.

Report back the fuel pressure numbers. We can go from there.

Also check compression while you are at it.

I purchased the fuel pump that the seadoo page suggested. it has the 107 psi and the proper power draw' I did not test it . but had read up on it and it was a recommended model. I will test it and the compression first. thanks for the input.

Can you post a link to the recommended pump that you purchased? The only recommended pump that I am aware of is the OEM one.
