2000 GTX not running at full speed.

I have a 2000 GTX that I bought from my brother inlaw. It runs great but my top speed is 45-47 MPH and I thought that I should be getting around 55. This is a 3 seater unit so I know it is a bit heavy but I feel like it should be going a bit faster. This is my first jet ski so I am new to it but someone told me that the "Raise valves" or something like that may be sticking. Is this somehting that could affect the top speed or am I barking up the wrong tree and is this an easy fix that I can do myself? ANy help would be appreciated.

At what rpm is your to speed if you are at wot and top rpm and not at the correct speed look at the impeller and wear ring
