Read some of the threads about aftermarket DI fuel pumps. A very few have had luck with Quantum pumps. I have not. My suggestion is try to find a good used pump. Sometimes you can resurrect them by cleaning with toulene and gas, but yours looks like it may be trash.

Surprisingly the pump was still working but the ski bogged when I got on it and didn’t run right. That’s why I took it out and the tank is filled with junk in it. Think I can sand the housing down and run it through something to clean it out?

Since the pump is still working clean, change filters and give it a try. Clean that tank out as well.

Should I pump something through it to clean it out and I’m gonna sand all the rust off anyway i can coat the outside body of it as well?

50/50 mix of toluene and gasoline. Be careful doing this. I use a bucket and submerge the pump.
The toluene cleans the "varnish" from inside the pump and the gasoline keeps the toluene from harming the plastic parts.

Thanks appreciate it. Should I even use it will the surface rust it had on it. I can sand it down and wire brush it but it will eventually rust again most likely
