I was going to winterize my 2000 GTX when I opened the front hatch I noticed a pool of sludge resting in the bottom of the hull. Looks like a mixture of water and oil. I was just wondering if the oil tank on these engines have a leaking problem or if there is a quick solution to the leak.

Or am I just going to have to try and find the leak...:ack:?

Check the RAVE valves for oil residue. Sometimes it will dribble down and make a mess. You might just have to look and feel around for a leak.

the oil tanks on some doo's do leak
if it is a long tank on the right side of ski, yes they can, around the seam
also if you are in the habit of filling the tank to the top, this can push oil out the vent, but yes i have replaced many tanks due to leaks at the seam.
also check the rubber fitting that secures the oil feed from the bottom of tank.
check the lines that feed the crancase too!
