2000 GTS carb uninstall

What tools will I need to take apart the carb, wanting to take it completely out and clean it up or possibly replace

Metric wrenches and sockets.
JIS #2 screwdriver.
I would also buy or build a pop-off tester.

Pull the filter mesh and rubber ring then there are more bolts underneath.

Ok got those out but looks like the throttle, idle, and three rubber lines come off. I got the throttle cable off. Any suggestions on getting the idle cable to come loose and also the rubber lines?

I am going to be perfectly honest with you here. If you can't get the hoses and cables off you are going to have a very hard time servicing this carb and getting it back together correctly.

You have to get the oil injection cable off, not the idle cable. Loosen any nuts and then maneuver the cable to get the ball end free from the carb. If you have the original gray hoses just pull and wiggle and they will come off. If they are grey all of them are trash anyway.

Make sure you label the hoses.

Yep, I look at the forum as a place to hang out and talk about our stuff. Often to get help, advice, and opinions. Information is never wasted and it always there for access in the future.

Same as me. I use it as a place to come and get info and help. I acquired my ski and dove right in trying to clean up the motor area and parts. I there’s always one bad apple on forums.
